North California-based indie rapper Zaydo has delivered a new project Wolves Outside, which is a 15 track body of work that displays the rapper’s versatile style that bridges the old with the new. The project has a solid production that blends lush textures, trap drum grooves with catchy melodic raps.
From the intro, Zaydo lays down the law with his statement over a moody and punchy trap backdrop and reminds listeners not to sleep on his skills. The features are far and in between and on the guitar-laden “Let Go” he teams up with J.Lately for a reflective piece that listeners can latch on to. On “Vibin” he makes use of a dreamy and bright textured upbeat trap backdrop as his canvas to deliver a catchy and engaging piece. On “The Way Up” he takes time to reflect on his journey and how his work ethic has gotten him ahead in the game. On the somber “Talks with God” he teams up with Alessandra Rose and the result is an honest and heartfelt track that sees the rappers dining deep into their struggles and tribulations over a solemn backdrop.
Overall, Wolves Outside gives a somewhat balanced view of Zaydo and his life to some degree while throwing in some bravado elements in the mix.
