First set of visuals from Bristol emcee ThisisDA comes in the form of his third single “Hotsteppa”. A vibrant, off the cuff abrasive track that would have you bopping your head while appreciating the verbal proficiency of this lad. Sharp bars, wicked backdrop need I say more?

Before he debuts the Based Off Black EP in a couple of weeks though, ThisisDA has unveiled his first music video of the year, for ‘Hotsteppa’, the third track to be released from his forthcoming EP. Shot and directed by Tim Crawley (Run The Jewels, Paul White, Danny Brown), with a cameo appearance from Bristol visual artist Just Scribble, the visuals perfectly captures the energy of ThisisDA’s growing stature, as he continues to carve out a niche for himself, within UK Hip Hop.

Produced by long time collaborator Mankub, with Audiosnax providing complementary live DJ scratches, new offering ‘Hotsteppa’ runs with an infectious and nostalgic boom bap musical milieu, a hint of which we previously heard on ‘Won’t Change’. As one of the first records to be completed for the ‘Based Off Black’ EP, ‘Hotsteppa’ leads the way with a notably gritty, braggadocios and aggressive tone and message, with ThisisDA bringing his lyrical dexterity to the forefront.
