Soul/funk artist Summer Dennis is not new to us and has thrilled us with her brand of edgy funk/soul fusions. On her newest effort titled “You and Me,” a groovy cut that revels in the simple things in love, life and everything that revolves around it.

Backed by a thumping forward groove, lush textures, and soulful runs, Dennis gives a solid sultry performance that once again showcases her vocal range and edgy songwriting style. Far from being explicit, Dennis sure has that adult contemporary swag laced with youthful and sensual vibrancy. Inspired by the current lockdown, Dennis felt the need to write about how social distancing has made people yearn for more intimacy, love and something simple such as the human touch. This is definitely something we all need in this uncertain time, something to uplift our souls.

Recently transitioning from a full band to a duo, a powerful female lead, Summer Dennis co-writes with Bill Moore to compose music that displays power, independence but also femininity. Rhymes’ music and performances have cross-over audience appeal and combine elements of rock, R&B, Latin, pop and reggae.
