You can only imagine the surprised look on my face when I got this notification. Excuse the overly obvious title but a Mr Cheeks (Lost Boyz, LB Fam etc) feature in 2014 will trigger 90s nostalgic feelings in any hip-hop head. This is far from having written the man off but you get the idea.

So back to the topic at hand. Red Eye is a FL (not fruity loops silly) based emcee by way of Woodhaven NY who has a new mixtape titled Fatrick Ewing (notice a trend?) in the works and the first single off it is a Mr Cheeks-assisted mellow cut called ‘Hemperor’s Theme’. The DJ Tray-produced cut is silky smooth, bouncy and serviceable. Red Eye provides the uncontrolled substance in the form of two straight to the point verses while Mr Cheeks delivers that laid back flavoured hook reminiscent of his older work.

A pretty dop e(literally and figuratively) track for that special time off work.

As summer begins to edge its way into position after an incredibly ruthless winter, Florida’s Red Eye helps us prepare for the forthcoming heatwave with his latest track “Hemperor’s Theme.” Teaming up with Switzerland’s DJ Tray on production, with hook duties courtesy of Lost Boyz’ fame Mr. Cheeks, the bouncy track has the Gunshine State emcee reminds us of the importance to escape the rat race and take a breather every once in a while. “Hemperor’s Theme” will make an appearance Red Eye’s upcoming mixtape, Fatrick Ewing. Smoke something, drink something, and relax as you raise a glass to the nice weather and late night escapades that await!
