UK emcee Natty Wylah newest single “WHOAMI” is an unapologetic look at self-identification, social prejudice, and cultural stereotypes. As a mixed-heritage (Chinese-British) artist, he shows the listener the challenges he faces as he tries to come to terms with his identity. Backed by a broody but head nodding backdrop courtesy of Srigala, Wylah doesn’t shy away from being honest and unfiltered with his lyrics and thoughts. He further adds that his experiences do add a lot to the way the song came about. He tackles the way people ignorantly label him but he says about being Chinese  ” ..I feel that it’s a part of me, inherently.”  and at the same time, the song unravels the patriotic notions that we all need to be ‘from somewhere’.
