US-based Scottish singer-songwriter Natalie Clark‘s new single “A Place Called Home” is the lead single from her forthcoming debut album. The mid-tempo pop ballad is peppered with her distinct melodic runs and reflective lyrics that dwell on nostalgia and the solemn emotions that arise from chasing one’s dreams in an unforgiving world. Over L.A.-based producer Todd Spadafore‘s punchy drums, soaring synth pulses and rich guitar riffs, Natalie pours her heart on wax with lines like

I travelled far and I travel wide
to the shore but I couldn’t find
someone who understands me
Trying to be hard, trying to be tough
on my own but it’s not enough
I just don’t have the energy

She reminisces on her past and focuses on her journey to find a place called home.
