Vancouver B.C-based multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter Matt Storm makes his entry on our site with his new single titled “what do ya miss?”. The track is a collaborative affair as Matt teamed up with Vancouver talents Luke Deville (bass) and Trent Otter (drums) at the Electric Maple Tree studio to craft the song. The result is a warm and heartfelt record that showcases Matt’s songwriting prowess and distinct melodic runs. His laidback and somewhat whispered projection sure cuts through the mix and the soothing melodies keep the ears locked in.

“what do ya miss?” is his first release for 2023.

Matt’s been recording, producing and performing music in Vancouver B.C. since 2016. Matt was raised on both sides of the pond, born in Washington State and growing up in Saudi Arabia, Kenya and Vernon B.C. His non-traditional upbringing found himself immersed in music and left him with a unique perspective on life. 2022 saw Matt and his band grace Victoria’s Rifflandia Festival and the Vancouver Mural Festival. His single “We Went Our Own Ways” solidified itself as an underground hit on Spotify with over 1.5 Million streams to date. A long-time collaborator with Vancouver’s Desirée Dawson, the two opened for Serena Ryder on her 2022 Western Canada Tour. Matt just returned from a 10-show tour of the U.K. and Slovakia, promoting the new single and connecting with new audiences abroad.
