London-based singer/songwriter and Poet Latir makes his entry on our site with his new song “Am I Allowed to Say I Miss You?”. The eclectic song takes elements from R&B, synth-pop with a bit of electronic aesthetic and shows his knack for blending different sounds in his own unique way. The song writing is relatable and discusses the delicate issue of reflecting on one’s ex and reminiscing on the good times. While many agree that it’s a no-no, others might choose to differ and Latir makes a case for the latter with his heartfelt lyrics such as
“And if and when our paths become a symbol of our distance
What would we say we learned?
You taught me many things
And if our paths do cross
Girl could we place our pain on hold?“
He acknowledges the bright paths and begs the question “are you allowed to tell your ex that you miss them? Is that such a crime?”.
“Am I Allowed to Say I Miss You?” is the first single off his upcoming project which will explore his feelings around love, anxiety, social justice, and more, through his magical writing.
