Johnny Burgos taps into the positive energy on his newest release titled “The Grey.” The record sees him fusing soul, funk, and a tinge of hip-hop that displays his versatility as an artist. Backed by DJ SKizz‘s booming basslines, silky guitars, and gripping grooves, Burgos implore listeners to enjoy the process as opposed to complaining. He reminds us that life happens regardless if the conditions are perfect or not, it’s just up to us to embrace it. Also joining him on the track is emcee Leo Coltrane who comes through with an uplifting verse about self-belief and making the first step towards achieving goals.

The accompanying visual, directed by David Barron is as cinematic as they come and captures the people of NY in their element. It makes use of nice smooth cut scenes, expressive performance shots of the artists as well and a myriad of clips showing rooftop water towers, tall housing projects, and other elements that represent the big apple.

“The Grey” is a single taken from Burgos’s forthcoming debut album Gone Into The Grey, set for a March 2021 release.
