Multi-talented San Francisco-based singer/songwriter/producer jade tree enters our site with two singles “1 to 1” and “416 to 415” that showcase her versatility as a music producer. Before getting behind the boards, jade tree worked extensively in the music industry as a singer for rock bands and collaborated on EDM songs as a vocalist and songwriter and she also plays the guitar.
The first track “1 to 1” has a 90s hiphop/soul feel and it comprises rich guitar licks, layered sample chops and punchy drum grooves. I love the way she arranges her sounds and the overall crispness of her mixing is something to take note of. She is definitely not new to this as she makes it look easy.
The second track “416 to 415” has more of a cinematic and menacing feel. Again, she delivers a solid piece as she flips a glorious scenic sample with brass stabs and soft vocal hums underpinned with punchy drums. The result is another brilliant offering that lovers of boombap hip-hop instrumentals can rock with.
