Deflon wades in in with The Murk, a swathe of menacing, electronic beats on Variation Music. This is another new name for my archive of music, and no doubt it will be one I talk about a lot as this is a thumping introduction. ‘Cosmosis’ opens up the barrage of synths with a looming beat reminiscent of walking though a 30th century catacomb whilst driving a Space Marine’s Dreadnaught, before the vibrato-lead number of ‘Smile’ lightens up proceedings. The ‘Mindlock’ intro is also perfectly crafted. A very fresh release which you can cop for free – and you’ll be seeing a lot more of Variation Music around here as Word Is Bond is set to partner up with that to bring you all the goodness they bring us, but more on that later…
