Dax‘s “I Need A Break” is a harrowing look at how a seemingly great relationship could go sour. The rapper takes the listener down a narrow path of near self-destruction and despair on this tune.

Backed by a solemn piano-driven backdrop, Dax delivers his verses in a melodic sing-songy style that channels his emotional pains and also acts as an outlet for him to tune out. He details the situation with lines like “…How you let it get to this, how you let my friend hit/If there’s no loyalty, girl there’s no relationship…”
