“Flashback” is the lead single from UK emcee Carasel‘s forthcoming sophomore album coming out later this year. As the title suggests, it takes a trip down memory lane, especially the early 90s when the Golden era of rap started and also a myriad of pop references of that time. The production by Crissy Criss is hard-hitting and has hints of a DJ Premier aesthetic which fits the script while Carasel displays a detailed storytelling skill that vividly paints pictures of the past.

The visual is brilliant as well and pays homage to a variety of pop culture events and elements from hip-hop magazines like XXL, The Source, the 90s video games, cartoons, early days of the internet, hip-hop flicks and much more.
