Brooklyn, the unofficial home of hip hop has honored another legend of the art. Palmetto Playground, a small park in Brooklyn has been officially renamed Adam Yauch Park, in honor of the late Adam “MCA” Yauch of The Beastie Boys. The park sits just blocks away from where MCA grew up and honors the one year passing MCA. Friends and family gathered at the park for a special ceremony to commemorate Adam’s life. Speakers at the events included Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, fellow Beastie Boy Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz and Yauch’s mother, Frances.

They taught Adam to be curious, thoughtful, kind and just enough crazy
