Rising Upstate NY-based rapper Yung.King.Cole’s Cole’s Cold World is a 7 track project that blends hard-hitting trap sounds with soulful elements and club-ready tracks.

The first track “Mud Ties” featuring Mizxy Slime gets the ball rolling on a high note. The production is anthemic, punchy and dark while Yung.King.Cole’s no-holds-barred and vibrant energy takes the cake. Lines likeI’m grateful for these shady niggaz hating that I’m blowing up/Pressure on myself/Ain’t got patience what’s the hold-up, all that shit you talking,I can tell you got no motion” underscore his mission statement. The next track “Antidote” is an unapologetic street-savvy jam ripe with vivid lyricism with a touch of aspirational themes. The production is a blend of soul vocal samples and bass-heavy trap drums. This leads to another anthemic track “Get Myself Right” which dives into the rapper’s work ethic and go-getter spirit. Backed by the cinematic backdrop, Yung.King.Cole kicks lines like “I done everything for a bag, I just rhyme nice/If I wasn’t raping, I be trapping, got that right price/Balling living like Mike, chill like I make ice/I be in the lab, making movies, this is a great life.

Yung.King.Cole teams up with Philly artist Nazzy the Mic on the bouncy Jersey club banger “Shake.” Together the rappers deliver bravado-laced bars with lucid hard-nosed lyricism and a memorable hook. This is an interesting switch from the previous tracks and a showcase of versatility. On tracks like “Wishy Washy” and “My Prayers,”  Yung.King.Cole shows two sides of his personality. The former has a reflective and somewhat solemn vibe, but the lyrics center on fairweather friends, betrayal and growth, while the latter digs deep into his childhood and his family roots. Here, he gives audiences a true and detailed breakdown of what makes him tick and showcases raw vulnerability. The final track “Left Jaded” is an ode to an ex who is somehow in the picture. Yung.King.Cole runs through different scenarios and looks back at the things they did and could have been. The track has a bittersweet feeling as the rapper expresses emotional pain and anger in the same breath.

Overall, Cole’s Cold World feels like a compilation of sorts. The majority of the tracks are bravado and boastful anthems where he showcases his lyricism while other tracks give audiences a glimpse into his life.
