For this week’s Submission Recap, I decided to go deep sea diving into the nether regions of the inbox and source for some good old dopeness. Perhaps you can call it luck or plain old insight, I managed to get my hands on solid joints that need to be heard by all and sundry.

Waste little time and check out the newness below

NOTE: “Word Is Bond Submission Recap is a summation of some dope cuts that hit us while we were getting things back together.”

Cali_Omega – One Night (Prod. Cali Omega)
Some smooth soulful sparse beat from producer Cali Omega makes this list. Love the piano chords used on this one. dope stuff

Don Anthony – The Set Up (Prod. by Kevyn Jackson)

In the wake of the Baltimore riots, emcee Don Anthony brings the subject full circle with a graphic look at police brutality.
A much needed rhetoric  in these times.

Nix – Beauty In The Breakdown(Aust)
this solid joint comes all the way from Australia, emcee Nix takes us through his struggles and tribulations as he comes to terms with his gift. dope beat, dope rhymes…this is a prime example of that!!
Nix is an emcee of Chinese-Indonesian heritage who is currently based in Canberra. Nix’s style can be described as sincere and heartfelt, with a boom-bap twist. His music is a reflection of his everyday life. From the tough decisions we have to make in life to the emotions that come with heartbreak, Nix explores topics that almost anyone can relate to, no matter where they are from.

Born in Broken Hill and raised in the suburbs of North-West Sydney, Nix developed his love for hip-hop in high school and began to dabble in the art of rhyme not long after. Following high school he relocated to Canberra for university studies. It was not until completing his studies and commencing full-time work that he decided to focus on making music a priority.

In 2012, Nix released his debut mixtape ‘The Nixtape’. Since then, Nix has featured on tracks with artists such as Masta Ace, Percee P, Oddisee and Illmaculate. He has also performed numerous live shows and supported artists such as Swollen Members, the Pharcyde, Guilty Simpson & Katalyst, Blu & DJ House Shoes, Rahzel & DJ JS-1, High Focus Records, Briggs & Hau, Spit Syndicate and more.

Raw Elementz – Inner Steeze feat Mga-Czar prod B. Corder

this broody song/video comes from dallas based emcees raw elementz
hard hitting, edgy and straight up raw!!

Official video for “Inner Steeze” off the project “It Feels Good Outside” prod by B.CORDER performed by Raw Elementz. Dallas Hiphop at its finest.

CALiENS – gorgeous

Raw, dark and omnious is what I term this joint from the duo known as Caliens. They bring some outer world, alien ish type feel with the references in their lyrics and soundscape.
With their EP, untitled, dropping who knows when, CALiENS, the duo made up of Dre Trav & 18sense, new single, “gorgeous”. Trav rhymes over the raw and high energy production of 18, they chose to title the track “gorgeous” to describe life as a beautiful struggle. Stay tuned for whats next.
