WIB # 60 – Philly Moves by Thewordisbond.Com on Mixcloud
Philly Moves live up to their name. They have been making moves for some time now and have rocked the stage with artists such as Lupe Fiasco, A$AP Rocky, Del The Funkee Homosapien, DL Incognito, Moka Only, Ghettosocks, Saukrates, Eternia, and Mac Miller, among others.
Chase March caught up with them on The Deleted Scenes tour when they opened up for Blueprint. It was an incredible show that featured performances from Mad Dukes and Fresh Kils as well.
With a name like Philly Moves, you might expect this group to be American. However, they hail from the nation’s capital, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
They are a one producer / one emcee group who embody the true spirit of hip-hop. Tragic holds down the microphone and Rockwell provides the beats. They live and breathe the culture and focus on witty wordplay over top of funky breaks and dusty samples.
Shortly after recording this interview, the group dropped a new full length album. If you’ve liked what you’ve heard today, head on over to their bandcamp and pick up a copy of Creators of the Lost Art.
