Rising rapper/.songwriter Wess reflects on “Adolescence” in his new single that captures the intersectionality of naivety, youthful exuberance and the dynamics of coming of age for a young black man. Over a sombre guitar-driven backdrop, Wess takes us down a familiar road where the energy of the youth often overrides logic and lines like “Me am with the thuggish, ruggish gangsta noise, middle finger to the laws and lawyers/But this gangsta shit ain’t well equipped to fit the script that I was calling over” help sum things up and show how the street life and his true intentions are diametrically opposed.

“Adolescence” is the first release from his 2nd EP, Diary of a Lost Soul which is set for release in Jan 2024.
