Norwegian emcee Ivan Ave links up with emerging San Diego based soul singer Joyce Wrice on his latest single “Guest List Etiquette” and its accompanying visuals. The track is a nice blend of hip-hop and neo-soul with an emphasis on the soul part.

Over a smooth, laid-back soulful beat courtesy of Mndsgn and Devin Morrison, Ave shares a heartfelt tale of blossoming love between two individuals from different worlds. It’s like a tug and pulls situation and both individuals try to find the balance and not overstep their boundaries in order to make things work out. Ave sure comes through with his smooth flow and well-crafted lyricism while Wrice adds a hearty serving of her velvety ’90s R&B flair to the mix. The self-directed video was shot in Oslo while Wrice was in town to perform at one of Ave’s Mutual Intentions parties. The video follows both individuals around town from where they met on the bus and how divergent their lives can be.
