We are still dedicated to showcasing the best tracks/videos from the underground by searching far and wide in order to bring you our weekly list. It’s a tough job as we sift through a ton of high-quality tracks just to settle for just 5 so we switched it up so now we curating the Top 10 Submissions. Bobby J From Rockaway – “Let Me Breathe”.

Queens rapper Bobby J From Rockaway delivers a stylish and colorful video for his new single titled “Let Me Breathe,” produced by the legendary Kwame. The track is a witty/hilarious take on fame-chasers and social-media wannabes. The video was directed by Llama, who you may know for their brilliant work on Bobby’s visuals for, “Walter White.” Whereas that was a take on the popular Breaking Bad character, “Let Me Breathe” brilliantly takes every modern-day cornball to task with great editing and direction.

Michael Rich – Wanna Know.

Rising rapper Michael Rich teams up with Deyjan Beats on his new song “Wanna Know”. Over a heavy trap production, Rich doesn’t hold back his punches as he shares his thoughts on being true to oneself. He further explains that “…A lot of artists, especially in the current industry don’t speak from their true self…”

 

 

Mobudda – Passcode.

Hartford CT singer/songwriter/rapper Mobudda (Monesha Jones) shares a personal tale of an unusually overbearing lover on her new song “Passcode”. She details what she has to go through when her significant other doesn’t trust or give her the benefit of doubt. This is something we all can relate to.

Tissa Rahim – Easy.

Vancouver based singer Tissa Rahim delivers a love-laden cut titled “Easy”. She blends her soulful vocals against atmospheric synths backed by a solid trap infused rhythm. Armed with a smooth, alluring vocal tone she takes the listener into the depths of her feelings about experiencing the highs of being in requited love.

Joya Mooi – Rice in Foil.

 

Singer/songwriter Joya Mooi shares an aspirational tune in the form of her new single “Rice in Foil”. She blends neo-soul, Rnb with a dash of hip hop on this tune about being proud of one’s heritage and background. With roots in South African, Joya gives insight into the experiences of a new generation from the African diaspora.
Her life at the intersection of different identities and its cultural complexity are reflexive topics in her work and literally visible in the video. Getting a closer look into the two sides of her cultural heritage, displaying the photo frame with her Dutch mother and South African father.

SASH – Moving Reckless.

Rising artist Sash drops a new song and video “Moving Reckless”. The NY based act deliver his brand of fun-filled hip-hop on his new record that has a mellow, dreamy vibe. The video has a very unorthodox feel as we see Sash’s carefree attitude come to play on the screen. In one scene, he is riding through the hills in a flashy foreign car with his crew before boldly pulling up and gate crashing an upscale dinner party.

Snoh Aalegra – You.

LA-based singer/songwriter Snoh Aalegra makes a special appearance on our weekly list with a heartfelt record titled “You”. The song sees her dwell on a very special individual in her life whom she loves unconditionally despite the pain she has to go through to make things work.
Born in Sweden to Persian parents, and now based in LA, Aalegra has been wowing music fans with her cinematic soul.

 

Bucky Dolla – Different.

Emcee Bucky Dolla comes through with a solid performance on this new track titled “Different”.  With a very apt title, he shows why he is different and not to be mistaken for a run of the mill rapper. The track was produced by up and coming VA producer @MetBoi.

 

¿Téo? – Américano

“Américano” is the latest single from Atlanta born neo-American songwriter ¿Téo?. The tracks showcase the rapper’s precise flow and bi-lingual lyrics that pack that in your face feeling. Hit the play button and get familiar.

He is headed out on his first ever headlining tour this week and has already sold out Baby’s All Right in NYC and The Troubadour in LA.

short bio: Mateo Arias began producing original content of his own at just 10 years old and has singlehandedly developed a genre which draws elements of Bossa-Nova, Hip-Hop, Classical, and Alternative. A genre which he refers to as “Neo American.” 

 

Alus – Girl Gang.

Singer/songwriter ALUS makes a case for the women on her new anthem titled “Girl Gang”.  Written by the half Puerto Rican singer and songwriter, the infectious Latin-inspired future pop hit and as her lyrics explain, inclusivity is the key, and all woman, of all races and origins, are welcome, as she sings, “my girl gang be so global, from LA to Tokyo, from NJ to Rio”, over the lush piano and horns-backed musical backdrop.
