It’s a tough job as we sift through a ton of high-quality tracks just to settle for just 5 so we switched it up so now we curating the Top 10 Submissions. East Point, Georgia emcee Shaheed404 delivers a smooth, mellow cut titled “Homecoming.” Backed by a smooth classic soul sample, he takes the listener to the place he calls home.

Mayhem & Reckonize Real x Skyzoo & Treva Holmes – “City Rises Up”

Mayhem (of EMS) & veteran Queens, NY producer Reckonize Real link up with Skyzoo & Treva Holmes on the tribute jam titled “City Rises Up.” Backed by a laid back, vocal sample driven piece, the emcees come through and pay respect to their respective cities while vocalist Treva Holmes deliver the soulful hook on the chorus.

Jaycreux – “Surf A”

 

Jaycreux slows down the vibe with a reflective piece titled “Surf A” where he details his experience with a certain girl in the summer. The song is inspired by his first few years of college in San Luis Obispo, where trips to Pismo and Avila Beach were frequent.

Kriptik x Skatta – “Try”

The cities of Nottingham and Coventry unite as rappers Kriptik and Skatta team up to showcase their lyrical skills on the collaborative track titled “Try.” Backed by a dark sparse beat courtesy of DJ K Dubz, both emcees come through with their solid flows about keeping that winning mentality regardless of the odds.
The video was directed by Track Road Entertainment and showcases the duo with crystal clear transitions and sharp editing, zooming in on them reciting their bars.
“Try” is taken from Skatta’s forthcoming EP ‘Fight Night Flows’ which features artists and producers such as Tarju Le’Sano, PRKR (BKS), Juberlee & Breaks available via I’m Not a Machine Music this February.

 

 

 

NeodotcoM – “Daddies Little Girl #GirlDad”

NeodotcoM shares his undying love for his daughter on this heartwarming piece titled “Daddies Little Girl #GirlDad.” Backed by a classic soul sample (used on kanye’s “Late Registration”) he takes time to share some great memories with his daughter as he shows her the world through his guidance and teachings. “Daddies Little Girl” is the newest single off NeodotcoM’s debut LP “Gods of Egypt”.

 

 

James Gardin – “Pretty Painting”

 

James Gardin comes through in the clutch with a melody-driven single titled “Pretty Painting.” The backdrop used here is a far cry from what we are used to which sure showcases Gardin’s versatility and ability to try new sounds and vibes. he goes for a more melodic flow here while paying homage to the beauty of women inn general.
He adds that “Pretty Painting” is inspired by the old adage that “beauty is only skin deep” .

 

 

 

Taiyel – “Enemi Say”

Emerging Afropop act Taiyel raises the energy with her new single “Enemi Say” as she kicks off her 2020 music campaign. backed by a heavy percussion and undeniable texture she takes time to remind the naysayers that she is here to stay. “Enemi Say” serves as the first single from Taiyel’s upcoming debut EP, which is scheduled for release later this spring.

 

 

 

Ridge Long – “Nothing But Time”

Ridge Long shares the engaging visuals for his single “Nothing But Time.” The track is a fun-filled piece that sees him trying to get a certain lady that caught his eye. The video sees Ridge Long as a nerd in class who does funny things to get the attention of the girl in question. It’s pretty entertaining.

The duo of African-Canadian rappers from Calgary KTheChosen and Nyemike go for the jugular on their collaborative cut titled “Amazon.” Over a dark cinematic backdrop, they come through to display their lyrical fitness.
