Buffalo NY Art Dealer/emcee/producer/studio pro Toneyboi delivers his new project Weekend At Toney’s, a 7 track body of work that sees him teaming up with Jamal Gasol, Brad Piff, Y.N.X. 716, BA Badd, Gaine$, Amina The Empress, MC Tae, EZ Money 40 and Skate Cobain. Production is handled by Camouflage Monk, Nom, Age, Legendary P and Buffalo Beatmaker. From the reflective “10,000 hours” to the celebratory “Jordan Era” where he details his hip-hop roots with a 90s mindset and the go-getter anthem “Same Song”, Toneyboi covers a handful of topics that reflect his lifestyle as he blends street-savvy raps peppered with insightful lines over soulful soundscapes.
This EP is a precursor to Toneyboi’s full-length debut for Jamal Gasol’s Piff Music Empire label (to drop later this summer). It’s also his first new music since the release of 2022’s Quality Costs EP, however he has been far from idle since then. As a producer he has been working on a project with Toronto’s DNTE to manifest this year. As a recording engineer he has been manning the boards recently for Conway The Machine, Jae Skeese and Westside Gunn among others.
