Word Is Bond is big on Ta-Ku and Word Is Bond is big on Nujabes, so you might have some idea just how much we’d appreciate this series. Ta-ku channels Nujabes for a project where for twenty-five consecutive nights – which ended yesterday – the Australian beatsmith creates a track dedicated to one of the pioneers of Japanese Hip-Hop, the first really to bring it to wide Western attention. From the opening beat, where a soft piano explodes with crazy drums, you can hear the Nujabes influence on Ta-ku coursing through the veins of these twenty-five nights. There is no word on a release, but I assume that since Ta-ku’s 50 Days For Dilla came out on vinyl that this will receive one.

Enjoy some more Ta-ku here.
