London based duo Subculture Sage, consisting of MC Hypeman Sage and producer Subculture Sounds, offer us something nostalgic and soulfully wicked in the form of this track titled ‘Childhood‘. May sound like a typical ‘back in the day’ type theme but the approach is commendable and refreshing.

Released under Subculture Sounds’ Twisted Hearts banner, the producer has built a soulful hiphop track with an old school vibe, whilst MC Hypeman Sage spits nostalgia, reminiscing on growing up in London when we were “hip-hopping, backpacks with our caps backwards”.

Enlisting Yoram Vazan, the man who recorded all the early Wu-Tang and Gang Starr records in a mixing and mastering capacity has definitely given the project its hip-hop credentials, and on ‘Childhood’ we hear a track with a genuine classic feel reminiscing over summers past.
