DJ/producer SonikCuts recently dropped his studio lp Power Moves and in order to keep the engagement going, he thrills new time listeners with a small dose of what he gets up to behind the decks on the single “Vibrating the Decks.”

The track is a solid sonic showcase of Sonikcut’s double-edged skill revolving beat-making and excellent turntablism. He cooks up a reflective, head-nodding banger and layers it with a myriad of vocal scratches from our favorite emcees ranging from Rakka Iriscience, Planet Asia, Termanology, and much more.

For this studio album as a producer/Dj SonikCuts invited some of the best rappers of the independent hiphop scene such as TermanologySkyzooGuilty SimpsonHomeboy SandmanSupastitionPlanet Asia among others, to be the voices of the project. In this album composed of 10 tracks, we find SonikCuts know-how as a producer through powerful instrumentals and guests of choice, but also as a dj with the countless scratches dotted around throughout the album. The project was mixed in Paris at “Haxo Studio” when SonikCuts used to live there, and mastered at “Elysian Masters Studio” in Los Angeles by Dave Cooley, the engineer who did the mastering of several albums like the classic ‘’Donuts’’ by J Dilla or more recently ‘’Bandana’’ by Freddie Gibbs and Madlib. “PowerMoves” is a hip-hop album where DJ and MC join their forces to deliver fresh beats, rhymes, and scratches.
