As the Potatohead people prepare to drop their new EP they team up with T3, Illa J, and Kapok for some good old soulful jam titled “What It Feels Like.” A laidback guitar-laden beat laced with lively horns and soft drums that is perfect for a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
The Canadian producers give us an insight into how the track was birthed as well. “This song was originally created during the same session as “Quest For Love” and “All Alone” when Illa J was visiting Vancouver. It wasn’t fleshed out enough to make it on to our last album but we’re so glad that we took our time with this one and that it turned out the way it did.”
“What It Feels Like” is the lead single from their upcoming LP Mellow Fantasy.
Potatohead People is made up of Vancouver multi-instrumentalists Nick Wisdom and Astrological, Potatohead People began their creative careers with a series of EPs, with their project Kosmichemusik quickly making its way to artists such as Illa J. Bringing in the duo to produce his critically acclaimed, self-titled album, the pair worked alongside Kaytranada, who co-produced Illa J’s “Strippers” with the production duo.
