North Carolina rapper Phocuz delivers an honest, heartfelt piece titled “Enough.” The J-Mac produced record is built on an anthemic and soulful soundscape and sees the rapper reflecting on his journey and the ups and downs of the life of a young man finding his footing in this crazy world. Overall, the track is a celebration of life and what it may bring.

Phocuz and J-Mac grew up only 30 minutes apart, but never met until a session at 9th Wonder’s (Little Brother) NCCU studio in the spring of 2008. The duo hit the ground running, producing, and writing songs in hopes of finding a place in North Carolina hip hop. But it wasn’t until the emcee moved to Atlanta, GA that the two decided to put their minds together on a joint venture. In 2017, the duo released their first joint project, Vibes R Eternal. The project showcased a nostalgia that hip hop lovers longed for, mixed with the new school sounds of heavy low end, melodic transitions of the genre today. The heavy bars & catchy hooks, scored with heavy-hitting production from J-Mac (credits include Ghostface, Cyhi The Prince,  Yung Berg, Mez & more) have given hip hop critics reasons to pay attention to this Carolina home cooking.
