Paul Horton aka No Stress is a man who wears many hats. He is 1/2 of the jazz improv duo Concurrence and also plays keys for The Alabama Shakes. On his newest effort titled “Freedomlove”, he delivers a punchy but soul-filled instrumental that taps into the old and the new.

On his EP titled Prelude No. 1, he pays homage to jazz greats with a myriad of sounds that take elements from various influences from jazz, soul, improv, and much more. “Freedomlove” is the first single from his debut solo EP Prelude No. 1.

The recordings are built entirely from live sampled drums, field recordings and bits and pieces of previous sessions. Guest appearances from Prof. Brittany Howard on guitar, Scott Martin, Derrek Phillips and Marcus Finnie on drums, Tem Bloher on keys and Dimmy Neubanks, Greg Bryant and “BabyPhat” Blevins supplying bass parts.
