Rapper/actor Mustafa Shakir comes through with an uplifting track titled “Black Love.” The track is a soulful anthem that focuses on black excellence, self-love, and the need to shun any form of negativity towards black people.

Bolstered by the solemn, reflective production of E. Jones of The Soul Council, Shakir takes ample time to remind the listeners of the true glory of being black and raise the appreciation for all we have done in this world. From history, culture, and much more, Shakir makes a profound note for us all as he delivers an eternal mantra of black love and self-realization in the true sense of the word.

For those that don’t know, Mustafa Shakir is a Nigerian American creative. An actor, writer, rapper, and director who started his career in Theater at The Negro Ensemble Company doing plays with the late Chuck Patterson before venturing into TV and films. He is best known as the Luke Cage villain Bush Master. He is currently filming a live-action version of the hit anime Cowboy Bebop for Netflix. He is also working on a new project Chameleon 42 with the Soul Council of Jamla Records which is due out in 2020.
