Veteran Canadian rapper/producer Moka Only recently put out his new album Arbutus Canyon, and in the interim, he shares the single “Or Somthin” to keep the momentum going. The self-produced track is a smooth jazz-soul offering comprising atmospheric textures, and warm pads with bass-driven head nodding grooves. Here, Moka Only shines through with his signature laidback flow and knack for seamlessly lending abstract with insightful bars.
“Or Somethin'” is from Moka Only’s latest album, Arbutus Canyon. “The album is a tribute to the ‘Longmile’, more specifically southern Vancouver island where I spent my formative years and was recorded between early spring 2023 and late summer 2024. The album takes its name from the Arbutus tree which is a true west coast institution and from the namesake canyon, a real geographic location just north of Victoria.” – Moka Only.
