Award-winning Canadian soul-singer Melanie Durrant teams up with acclaimed producer/DJ Statik Selektah on her new single “Listen.” A heartfelt and poignant look into emotional abuse and its numerous effects. Bolstered by Statik Selektah’s dark and cinematic texture ripe with somber keys, cinematic strings, and crunchy drums, Durrant delivers an impassioned performance that grips the ears and soul.

She gives a vivid and unapologetic performance that tackles the issue at hand and implores listeners to look deeper than they expect. This is something we all can relate to directly or know someone who has been in a similar predicament but in most cases, it is not talked about as much as it should. However, Durrant is not resting on our oars and raises awareness with this heartfelt track that aims to empower and give a voice to those trapped in these situations.

“Listen” is the lead single off Durrant’s forthcoming album, Where I’m At, slated for release this May.
