“Wandering” is the newest release from London based soul-singer Marie Dahlstrom who has always dazzled us with her sublime vocals over soul gripping soundscapes. The track gives us a hint of what to expect as she prepares to drop her debut album Like Sand on the 22nd of May. Like the title suggest, the song deals with an individual searching for true solace in a chaotic world. Dahlstrom approaches it from the analogy of a ship adrift and unable to find itself to the shore but as time goes on the conditions do find a way to change for the better.

The track sees Dahlstrom digging deep into her emotions and utilizing a somewhat experimental canvas to truly paint a picture of someone who is lost in the world. The layered backdrop has a hint of electronica, jazz and neo-soul mixed effortlessly. The way the beat swells in the chorus section helps bring the theme to the climax as the listener is fully immersed in the sudden rush of emotions and reflective vibes emanating from Dahlstrom’s angelic performance. She takes us through the journey step by step and throws us neck-deep in the situation which makes the song even more engulfing than most.

“Wandering” is lifted from Marie Dahlstrom’s debut album Like Sand, out May 22nd. The project was recorded between LA, Copenhagen, and London over the past 12 months and features collaborations with the likes of South London soul singer James Vickery, California based songwriter and producer Jeremy Passion, Brooklyn based singer/producer Elijah Fox, LA-based JNTHN STEIN, British guitarist Beau Diako – and more.
