It’s definitely a good Friday as Long Island natives John Jigg$ & DJ Concept drop their first collaborative EP. Aptly titled “Good Friday”, the project is a 6 track body of work that blends gritty soundscapes and vivid lyricism that would please hardcore rap fans from all over. Musically DJ Concept pulls many tricks from his bag as he crafts a wide variety of hard-body bangers that range from mellow (“Dear Season”, “The Wole Truth”) , vibrant cuts such as “Gutterball” and midtempo cinematic cuts such as “One King”. John Jigg$, of course, comes through with his unique flow and graphic style of writing which sits perfectly over DJ Concept’s beats. Although at 6 tracks, the features aren’t many but with verbal assists from SmooVth, Beefman and Recognize Ali, the project gets some diversity.
