After sharing a couple of singles, singer/songwriter Jenny Kwon returns with her 8 track project titled Illusions. The project sees her diving into the ups and downs of love, life, and the variables that come in between.

The project opens up with the G-Zoom produced “are you even thinking about me?” which was released here, a solid opener that draws the listener in with its soothing vibes. “QLC” has a shoegaze/soul type feel with its layered arrangement that suits Kwon’s sublime vocals. “Jumbles” has a trippy feel with it’s dreamy and somewhat psychedelic textures. Kwon is in her element as usual and taps into her deepest emotions to deliver a heartwarming performance on this one. “Spoke too soon” has a nice smooth piano riff and soft drums that have a weird spacing which makes it quite engaging. The experimental approach sure works and fits Kwon’s alluring melodic runs.

The title track sees her working with Sugi Dakks, and the result is a lushly textured head-nodding piece that closes the project out on a solid note.
