I remember when I first came across this band over the summer. For about a week, they were all I listened to, which is a little absurd because they have very little recorded material available. I was essentially going back and forth between two music videos. I just could not get enough of Lowtone Society – could not get enough of those cool jazzy sounds and those soulful melodies. To be honest, I still find myself coming back to these same videos; Lowtone Society has something I just can’t get enough of.

On this song, “LowTones,” the band enters gently and finds itself moving through an enthralling groove. Lead singer Joanna Teters delivers the highlight of the track – smoky and sultry vocals that are almost hypnotic. An owner of quite an impressive voice, Miss Teters does an amazing job of delivering the melody on top of Frankie Leroux’s superb drumming. Leroux’s playing has actually become my favorite aspect of this tune after my many listens – his approach is incredibly subtle and focused. And believe me – it was not easy to pick a favorite. I love everything about these guys.

Check out the video below, and be sure to be on the lookout for more from Lowtone Society. You know I will be!
