Veteran turntablist/producer J.Rocc shares “LA Anthem”  and “One” as he prepares for his full-length project A Wonderful Letter, a 15-track project that captures Southern California in the early 1980s.

The two singles “LA Anthem” and “One” is a true display of skill as J.Rocc delivers something refreshing and engaging. The former is a solid collaboration between LMNO and Key Kool who take listeners deep into the mean streets of LA where stars are made and many dreams fall to the wayside but overall the thrill is the hope that dreams could come true. The latter is a mid-tempo and moody beat that blends weird sound designs like dusty winds, vocal snippets, and prog-rock guitar riffs in the most off-kilter manner.

J.Rocc and his crew the Beat Junkies have been a seminal force in the rise of instrumental hip-hop and were among a handful of DJs who transformed the craft into an art form. All along the way, J.Rocc has been making his own beats, and A Wonderful Letter – his letter to Los Angeles, and his dedication to a lifetime of L.A. music scenes – is only his second full-length album.

A Wonderful Letter is available now at Stones Throw with vinyl shipping next week HERE. The record will be released everywhere on June 17, 2022.
