Introducing emerging North London recording artist, songwriter and producer Happi with his exciting new sophomore EP Boy And His Imaginary Friend, which is out now, having been premiered on Notion Magazine. The long-awaited EP comes on the back of its lead single ‘Forever’, which was premiered via NYLON Magazine in March, to rave reviews and critical acclaim.

Co-produced by Happi and Komenz, who has previously worked with Wiley, Ghetts and Dot Rotten, Happi’s Boy And His Imaginary Friend EP is brilliantly experimental, quintessentially British, and one of the best urban records you’ll hear this year – from the jungle and afro-pop sensibilities on ‘Introduction’, to the glorious UK rap/R&B fusion sounds on ‘Southside’, to the lush acoustic guitar-backed ‘10 Feet Tall’, and the addictive drum & bass offering of ‘Forever’.

Speaking about the inspiration for the Boy And His Imaginary Friend EP, Happi says, “It is a story of how a man can find his confidence, belief and purpose, through the guidance of faith and hope, which is represented as an imaginary friend. We all had big dreams and aspirations as kids, we were all imaginers as we were growing up, but along the way, reality made us feel like we couldn’t do the things we set out to do. This project sees me returning to those values I held onto as a child”.

On a more personal note, Happi adds that, “This EP really shows my journey of finding myself again. I had been through so much while creating it but I knew in the end, I wanted to have the heart I had as a child. I wanted to be vulnerable, to love and have the faith of a child. I wanted to bring positivity back into my life and my music, this project was my freedom and from here on out, people will begin to hear the real me – the big kid named Happi”.
