“EMPIRE OF SOUND” was born out of a duo formed by MC Mattic (USA) and composer/keyboardist JUKE (FR). The two artists discovered they shared similar interests in Black Culture and had the same will to bring hip-hop back to life thanks to a real jazz-band. Romain Joutard (Drums), Julien Herné (Bass), Benoît Medrikowsky (Guitar) et Lucas Saint-Cricq (Saxophone, Flute, DJ) rapidly joined the pair in Paris. In line with the US hip-hop jazz scene (with the likes of The Roots, Robert Glasper Experiment or RH Factor), EMPIRE wish to shake the European Rap scene by combining rich harmonies, powerful grooves and impactful lyrics. Their first EP “Dawn Of The Empire” will be set for Spring 2014, with prestigious special guests appearing in a Jessy Nottola music video. Stay tuned for more information!!!
