Guelph, Ontario-based beat maestro Elaquent is currently working on his new project REDISCOVERY, so in the meantime, he shares with us the second single “Small Victories” featuring rapper Dom Chronicles. The laidback soulful record is as reflective and introspective as it comes with its warm solemn textures, hushed drum grooves and heartfelt lyrics that dwell on growth and being focused on the important things in life. Dom delivers a solid performance with his playful flow and relatable lyrics like “Somebody said I need to make something to hit the club to, but honestly I’d rather make something that touch the soul/An OG said I’m someone the kids should probably look up to/But I ain’t where I wanna be yet but I don’t fold “. He shows vulnerability and refreshing candour on the track and overall, it’s quite engaging from start to finish.
