While doing press for his new movie, “Abduction”, director John Singleton, who also directed the transcendent “Boyz N The Hood”, said this [via NBCBayArea]:

“I can’t talk about it too prematurely about the stuff I’m doing because nothing’s come to fruition yet, but Cube and I are talking about doing the N.W.A. story. The script is really, really good, and so we’re just figuring it out. New Line really wants to make it.”

The title of the biopic would be “Straight Outta Compton” — which also happens to be the name of their most notable and most controversial album. I don’t see any reason why this movie shouldn’t be made.

My question would be this though: Do Ice Cube and Dr. Dre play themselves? I hope not. However, if it means putting a stop to Ice Cube’s Coors Light commercials, I’m all for it.
