Brazilian songstress Céu discovered her passion as a songwriter while living in NYC’s Lower East Side in the 2000s. She has risen with her distinct and unapologetic musical style rooted in her Brazilian roots. Since she released her self-titled debut in 2005, she has received multiple nominations for both the GRAMMY Awards and the Latin GRAMMY Awards with numerous top charting singles and collaborations. Now the singer announces her sixth studio album Novela and in the interim, she shares the single “Gerando na Alta” featuring the London-based French/Senegal singer, anaiis. The title which means generating on high in English sees both artists sharing their perspectives on the essence of sisterhood. Over the soft pads, rich rhythmic grooves and layered textures, audiences are drawn in by the sultry melodic runs and sultry harmonizes ripe with engaging songwriting that seamlessly fuses Portuguese and English lingua franca.
The new 12 track album Novela is scheduled for April 26th via Urban Jungle/ONErpm and features musical production by the artists Pupillo and Adrian Younge. It features artists like LadyBug Mecca( of Digable Planets fame),Loren Oden and Jensine Benitez, DJ/producer Frankie Reyes and many others.
