Madlib

There where 3 producers that smashed it, in 2010 based on quality and quantity of work released.

The candidates where:

K-Murdock for “12 Step Program”, “Forever Famicom” & “Decadense”

Madlib for The Medicine Show Series and Jazz albums…

Apollo Brown for “The Brown Study”, “The Left” and the “The Reset”

Well after much dweling and all the hard work that Madlib has put in this year, it makes a lot of sense to choose him as the best producer for 2010.

It was clear that Madlib was turning his production gear to 200% in 2010 when Stones Throw announced back at the end of 2009, the release of the Medicine Show series a once a month album & mixtape, completely produced by Madlib.

Medicine Show N.8 – High Jazz

He has not only released the Medicine Show series, which is now at Vol.11 (N.9 still hasn’t been released)  in only 12 months he has also released OJ Simpson in collaboration with Guilty Simpson and also “Stoney Jackson” with Strong Arm Steady. Not happy with that, Madlib has been busy with his own Jazz Label “Yesterdays Universe”, by releasing 2 albums this year, the first one being the band “Last Electro Acoustic Space Jazz & Percussion Ensemble” with the albumMiles Awayand the second release was “Young Jazz Rebels” with the record “Slave Riot“.

We have had the pleasure of covering Madlib extensively here in Word Is Bond, and we hope that Madlib continues as productive next year, as we intend to do the same and support this super dope producer that we are all fans of.
