Bella Bahhs is an emcee from Chi-town (west side to be exact), a college senior in the corporate communications and business administration department and a spoken poet that I first came across her via a collaboration with fellow Chi-town artist Phil The Artist. Her latest project is named ‘Power Hall‘ after the dorm hall she lived in during her sophomore years. This is a 7 track EP that screams darkness, melancholy and anti-establishment from all indications. The thick eerie textures, gripping lo-fi atmospheric samples  and pounding trap-ish drums make up most of the soundscape along with Bella’s off kilter rap/spoken word infused tirade on school life and life in general. I definitely see a lot of potential in what she has to offer and I hope y’all do too.

Get with the program and lay your thoughts in the comment section below.

“The EP “Power Hall” is an articulation of my experience as a dual resident of the affluent suburb where I now go to school right outside the city and the biggest, deadliest neighborhood in Chicago, Austin, where I call home.”
