This is an interesting one coming from Phil The Artist, a chi town rapper/producer titled ‘All Black’ which featured Bella Bahhs. As a producer, Phil the artist shines on ‘All Black‘, crafting a chilling, dark horn driven soundscape that sounds like something out of a 20s flick. Additionally, Bella Bahhs lends her off kilter flow and singing prowess (to a lesser extent) as she details her life struggles while trying to keep head above water. Pretty unexpected, maybe far from ground breaking but still engaging and worth the time.

Tune in and get with the program.

PHIL is a 20 year old upcoming artist from Chicago, producing for underground chicago hip hop rappers he began getting exposure by his beats. Producing his whole Cool Chicago album, PHIL tells a story of a boy finding himself during the hard obstacles in his life to become a man. Doing drug and drinking, he finds it easier to deal with the ills of life. Influenced heavily by jazz and good ol’ old soulful songs, the project has samples from John Coltrane, Ahmad Jamal, to David Ruffin and even Barbra Streisand. PHIL delivers “All Black” as a glimpse into the story he has put together for Cool Chicago.
