Swedish composer/guitarist J.O. Nilsson and Washington DC, USA-raised singer/songwriter Yona Marie. musical project Band of Pockets has been making its rounds in the scene since it was first formed in 2020. Their unique blend of retro-tinged soul/R&B/Neo-soul music is once again showcased in their latest release titled “Better Day”. The track is a rousing and spirit-lifting piece that is comprised of rich and warm keys with layered harmonies that rise to a plateau on the chorus. Yona pours her all on wax and implores us to have a little faith and trust in each other to create a better tomorrow. She takes on a spiritual journey as she restores our hope in these gloomy times with lines like “Even though it’s hard sometimes/I know we can find a better day
