US-based by way of Angola, Ballad is an R&B/soul singer/songwriter who piqued our interests with his new record titled “Atlantis”. Armed with a unique vocal style that is reminiscent of Maxwell and Prince, Ballad is easily off to the races as his performance is enthralling without a doubt. “Atlantis” exudes the classic neo-soul/R&B vibes with its lush keys, deep guitar riffs and laid back rhythm (courtesy of Jay Muse) that only play second fiddle to Ballad’s emotion-filled vocals. The soothing record sees Ballad detailing what it means to be deeply in love with another being and also breaks down the experiences felt.

“Atlantis” is taken from his recently released For, ‘Lost Thought‘ EP  which can be streamed here.

For, Lost Thoughts is Ballad’s most personal project to date. Since the release of his last EP, Croix, Ballad experienced a transitioning period in his life where he ultimately learned some of his biggest lessons in love. Laced with vulnerability, every word uttered from Ballad tells a story, his story. The project includes his single release “Wondering”, which is a slow ballad dedicated to love lost.
