Rising Brooklyn, Caribbean-bred singer/songwriter Alex Mali shares the visuals for “5 Star” taken from her recently released EP Phenom. Draped by a moody and boomy backdrop, she delivers a solid performance and gives her candid thoughts on a relationship gone sour. Far from being the victim, she bares her thoughts as she moves on with her life. The track is a follow up to the “Fighting Words” visual she dropped last month.
Alex debuted the performance during the Adult Swim Festival that featured headlining acts like Kaytranada, J.I.D., and Rico Nasty. Her set included other standouts from her sophomore Phenom EP which is an excellent display of her ability to crossover R&B, pop, dancehall, and trap music seamlessly.
