Impromptu Notes is emblematic of Concepts style, and the sounds on display show strong signs of positive evolution from everything that has preceded it thus far.  It’s also great to hear some unfamiliar (at least to me) MC’s jump on the beats, however for the beat junkies there is still plenty of instrumentals to vibe to.

“Impromptu Notes” is a Jazz inspired homage to an art form that paved the way for Hip-Hop. Alongside Soul Music, Jazz has always been a strong foundation for the evolving sample based Hip-Hop sound, from heavy bass lines to melodic instrumental work, there is a definite relationship. Concept’s moody jazz production is complemented by intelligent vocals from; John Robinson, I.D 4 Windz & StaHHr. The relationship between Jazz & Hip-Hop is explored and defined with Impromptu Notes
