Over a soulful sample and drumless backdrop à la Griselda et al, AC Smoove pours his heart on wax and delivers some aspiration gems that we all can relate to in many ways. Lines like “I practiced hard. I aint wanna run a bad race/ And there were times when I still came in last place/ But on these tracks here, I’ll never have a bad day/ Giving this thing a whole hundred, not halfway” see him acknowledging the bad times but with a positive disposition, he can always climb out the doldrums.
