The new song from singer/rapper Sonya Tecia called OWN, is a fusion of the old and new.  Heavy drums, steady thick baselines and ethereal synths take the centre stage a she flips between sultry melodies and enthralling harmonies. The cut is really experimental and far from the norm with a 90s vibe to it.

 A solid cut if I do say so myself.

“Own” is the first release and single off of Sonya’s new EP “Heatwave”, set to release this summer. The song has an eclectic/new age edge while still maintaining an r&b/jazz feel. With DeAira, an up and coming producer out of Las Vegas, on the production and Sonya’s sultry and hard hitting vocals over the track, the two have combined to form something amazing that has yet to be heard.
